US work visa categories
The USA has some of the most competitive work routes in the world — annual caps, lotteries and strict employer-petition requirements mean honest timing advice is essential.
H-2B (temporary non-agricultural seasonal)
For temporary seasonal or peak-load non-agricultural roles where a US employer can demonstrate a genuine temporary need. Subject to annual caps — approximately 66,000 per year split between two halves. Timing is critical; petitions must be filed months in advance of the start date.
H-1B (specialty occupation)
For roles in a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field. Subject to an annual cap of 65,000 (plus 20,000 for US master's graduates) and a computer-lottery system. We tell you honestly whether and when an H-1B makes sense for your profile.
Employment-based immigration (EB categories)
Priority Workers (EB-1), professionals with advanced degrees or exceptional ability (EB-2), skilled workers and professionals (EB-3) — employer-sponsored permanent residence routes for qualified candidates. Wait times vary significantly by country of birth*.
O-1 (extraordinary ability)
For individuals with demonstrated extraordinary ability in their field — strong portfolio of achievements, awards, publications or industry recognition required. A highly case-specific visa we assess frankly.
L-1 (intra-company transfer)
For employees of multinational companies transferring to a US affiliate, subsidiary or parent entity. Requires at least one year of qualifying employment with the overseas entity in the past three years.
Honest timing and alternative planning
We never recommend a US work visa just to make a sale. If the lottery odds are not in your favour this year, or if your profile is not yet competitive for a specific category, we say so — and suggest realistic alternatives in Canada, Australia or the UK.
What it takes to qualify for a US work visa
US work categories are strictly employer-petitioned — your eligibility depends as much on the employer's ability to petition as on your own profile.
A genuine US employer petitioner
Every US work visa requires a legitimate US employer to file a petition with USCIS on your behalf. We verify the employer's registration, history and ability to petition before you proceed. No genuine petition, no visa.
H-1B: degree and specialty occupation match
Your position must qualify as a 'specialty occupation' and your US bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent evaluated by a credential evaluation service) must be directly related to the role. The degree-role match is assessed case by case — we give you an honest read.
H-2B: temporary need, cap availability and timing
Your employer must demonstrate a genuine temporary need, and the petition must be filed before the relevant cap fills. The H-2B programme has annual limits and often fills within days of opening. Timing is everything — late starts miss the window.
EB categories: PERM, priority dates and wait times
Employment-based green cards require PERM labour certification (for most EB-2 and EB-3 cases), employer sponsorship and then a wait for a visa number to become available. Current wait times for Indian-born nationals can be substantial in EB-2 and EB-3 categories*. We give you the honest picture before you commit.
From honest assessment to your US work authorisation
The US process is employer-led — our job is to help you understand the realistic timing and requirements, and to manage the application once a genuine employer steps forward.
Honest eligibility and timing review
We assess your profile against the relevant US visa category — degree, experience, occupation and employer requirements — and tell you plainly whether a specific category is realistic for you in the current year, including lottery odds where applicable.
Employer verification
We verify the US employer's FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number), petitioning history and ability to pay the prevailing wage before any petition proceeds. A genuine petition from a registered employer is the only foundation for a US work visa.
Petition preparation and USCIS filing
We prepare the Form I-129 petition package with all supporting evidence — employer documentation, your credentials and any required prevailing-wage determinations — and file with USCIS at the right time.
Consular visa application
Once USCIS approves the petition, we prepare your DS-160 consular application, brief you on the consular interview at the US Embassy or Consulate in India, and help you answer honestly and confidently.
Visa stamp and pre-departure
Once your visa is stamped, we brief you on entry requirements, the I-94 record, what to carry and your authorised employment conditions. H-4 dependant applications are coordinated alongside yours.
Caps, lotteries and realistic expectations
The United States has some of the most competitive and time-sensitive work routes in the world — annual caps, computer-based lotteries and strict employer-petition requirements that are entirely outside anyone's control. We will never promise you H-1B selection, because no honest consultant can. What we can do is prepare the strongest possible petition, file at exactly the right time and tell you honestly whether the odds justify the effort for your specific situation this year.
If the US doesn't fit your profile right now, we will say so directly — and we will show you genuine alternative pathways in Canada, Australia or the UK that may get you to a similar outcome sooner and more certainly. Your family's savings deserve honest advice, not a lottery ticket dressed up as a guarantee.

Questions about USA
The H-1B cap receives far more petitions than the 85,000 visas available each year, so USCIS runs a computer lottery to select which petitions will be processed. In recent years, registration numbers have been very high and selection rates have been well below 50%. We give you the honest picture on odds, and only recommend entering the lottery when your employer, role and credentials genuinely meet the specialty-occupation requirements.
The H-2B visa covers temporary, seasonal non-agricultural work where a US employer can demonstrate a genuine temporary need — hospitality, landscaping, housekeeping, construction and similar roles. It is subject to an annual cap of approximately 66,000 split across two fiscal-year halves, which often fills very quickly. Timing your employer's petition correctly is essential, and we advise on the exact filing window.
H-4 visa holders (dependants of H-1B workers) may be eligible to apply for an H-4 EAD (Employment Authorization Document), which allows them to work in the US. Eligibility requires the H-1B principal applicant to have an approved I-140 petition or to be in an extended H-1B status. This is an important planning consideration we assess at the outset.
Yes — the EB (employment-based) immigrant visa categories allow qualifying workers and professionals to pursue permanent residence through employer sponsorship. EB-1 (priority workers), EB-2 (advanced degree professionals and exceptional ability) and EB-3 (skilled workers and professionals) are the main categories. For Indian-born nationals, priority date backlogs in EB-2 and EB-3 can be very long*. We explain the current wait times honestly before you commit to this path.
Yes — fake H-2B and H-1B offers are a known scam targeting aspirants in Punjab and across India. Red flags include upfront fees to 'secure' the petition, a USCIS approval notice you are asked to pay for, or a 'guaranteed' visa without a verified employer petition. Legitimate US work visas are always petitioned by a verified US employer through USCIS — no genuine employer charges you for the petition. If something feels wrong, contact us for a free assessment.
